ColorBox is a nine-module color science toolbox spanning calibration, lighting, LUT analysis, data views, comparisons, tools, image and camera analysis, and ICC profiles. Lighting Analysis is scheduled for release in November 2026, with the other modules planned for 2027.
Lighting Analysis
ColorBox Lighting Analysis turns spectral measurements into a clear understanding of your light. Explore color quality, compare sources, track changes over time, and examine advanced metrics from camera rendering to UV and plant lighting. Bring every result together in professional reports—and make lighting decisions with confidence.
Capture Measurements
Capture measurements from compatible instruments and explore CCT, Duv, illuminance, CRI, TM-30, SSI, TLCI, and TLMF alongside the full spectrum. Go deeper with melanopic EDI, PPFD, and supported UV and NIR metrics. Compare lights side by side to match sources, assess color quality, and reveal differences in output and spectral performance.
Capture Time Series
Capture light over time to reveal warm-up, output stability, and color drift. Record continuously, at timed intervals, or at manual checkpoints, then follow changes in illuminance, CCT, Duv, CRI, TM-30, and other supported metrics. Add markers and notes to connect each change with your test conditions and compare performance across the complete recording.
Sequences
Build repeatable test sequences to measure your lights across different brightness levels, color temperatures, and settings. Control compatible Godox, Aputure and amaran fixtures directly, or follow guided steps for manual adjustments. Keep every measurement linked to its test condition, making it easy to compare fixtures and repeat the same evaluation consistently.
Monitoring & Alerts
Set limits for key lighting metrics and let ColorBox alert you when measurements move outside your tolerances. Catch changes in brightness, color temperature, or Duv as they happen, helping you spot instability and unexpected shifts during a test. Keep monitoring while you focus on the setup.

See the measurements that matter with dashboards tailored to cinema, lighting review, manufacturing, print viewing, human-centric lighting, horticulture, and research. Automatic Light Control
Control compatible Aputure, amaran and Godox fixtures directly from ColorBox, bringing light adjustment and measurement into one workflow. Change supported brightness, color temperature, and color settings, then measure the result without switching applications. Run repeatable sequences to evaluate how each fixture performs across its settings and compare lights under consistent test conditions.

Sun Studies
Study how daylight changes throughout the day with measurements linked to location, sun position, and available weather conditions. Track illuminance, color temperature, spectral irradiance, and supported UV and NIR levels alongside the sun’s path. Capture manually or at scheduled intervals to evaluate natural light for filming, architecture, horticulture, and research.
Photobiological Hazzards
Evaluate photobiological hazards using assessment profiles based on IEC 62471:2006 and IEC 62471-7:2023. Review supported UV, blue-light, and thermal hazard metrics against applicable exposure limits, with incomplete measurement evidence clearly identified. Create detailed reports to support professional safety assessments and compliance documentation.
Street & Road Lighting Assessment
Evaluate street and road lighting using EN 13201 assessment profiles and measurement grids. Measure luminance, illuminance, and uniformity, compare results against selected lighting-class criteria, and identify uneven coverage or underlit areas. Create professional reports to support installation reviews, lighting upgrades, and compliance assessments.
